Innovative Apparel Show – high tech with glamour factor

Glamour dress meets men’s hoodie, fantasy follows function, recycling parka as trend for tomorrow – with its first edition, the Innovative Apparel Show presents a big look into the future. Students of four universities in Germany and Switzerland were willing to engage in experiments. They design fascinating and unique garments and partly used amazing processing technologies to do so. Who would have thought, a long evening gown with elegant frills of Diolen 150BT could be welt by using ultrasonic welding. And this Diolen is made of polylactid acid that are said to be a kind of green polyester. They are a 100 percent of renewable resources that are biodegradable.

But what sounds to be technique looks highly fashionable, sexy and spectacular or especially sporty. Three dimensional garements of Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau in folded optics or spiral forms are wrapping up women’s bodies. A voluminous coat not only fits men. The idea to take the comfortable and warm feeling from lying in the bed in the morning led to long silver coats with the title “Cover me softly”. The designer was Julia Edich from Hochschule Niederrhein.

For visibility reasons, Swiss Hochschule Luzern send models in reflecting coats and men in hoodies (Hanna Stampfli) on the catwalk. Cuffs and under-collars, hoodies and leather with perforations are blinking. The designs of Frankfurter Schule für Bekleidung und Mode under the dynamic title “Kraftstoff” are all about security. Race-Tech at its best, several racing suits in orange, black and shades of grey. Three dimensional threads, checkered flags and fire resistant materials for motor sports lovers.

Fading Crystals, Sunshine & Starglow are the titles for gowns with glamour factor from Hochschule Niederrhein. A seductive long evening gown with flounces is welded via ultrasonic methods (Theresa Brinkmann). The star money evening dress (Kathrin Erge) shows how solar and LED technology together with up-cycled denim trousers can result in a real couture dress. Over the day, the batteries are charged, in the twilight, the gown starts to light up.

And, do you known already who will be Germany’s next top apparel? Do not miss the show and make your choice!
